The 25-year-old Italian-Senegalese TikToker was arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) on June 6 at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas.
According to a statement released by ICE and obtained by the Daily Mail, Lame violated immigration regulations after entering the U.S. on April 30.
“U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement detained Seringe Khabane Lame, a 25-year-old Italian citizen, on June 6 at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas, Nevada, for immigration violations,” a spokesperson said.
“Lame entered the United States on April 30 and remained in the country after his visa had expired. Lame was granted voluntary departure on June 6 and has since left the U.S.”
The case comes amid a significant increase in ICE operations under the administration of Donald Trump. The agency has carried out mass arrests and deportations, fueling protests across the country.
